There’s a big trend that’s hit the high street this season – Metalics & Holographic! Pretty much every brand of make up is releasing their own metallic collections and it’s not a look that suits everyone! However, Essence Cosmetics have come up with an amazing affordable range of make up showcasing this trend and they have done an amazing job!
I was kindly sent some new Essence Cosmetics products to try to having already been a big lover of this brand I was delighted to try some new releases. If you haven’t come across Essence Cosmetics before, your missing out if you love good affordable make up. Because that is essentially the Essence of Essence!
So lets take a look at some of their new releases and some of their old faithfulls;
There was such a great selection of products sent to me and I was super eager to start testing them all out but where to start?! Lets go with a polished nail. I was sent 3 nail polishes, a beautiful silver holo glitter, a brushed metallic colour and metal shock sealing top coat. The holo glitter is a fave of mine, so sparkly and perfect for the party season, this would look good on fingers and toes!
Correct to Perfect colour correction quad has been a saviour to my makeup routine of late. the four shades tackles different skin skins such as blemishes dark circles and sallow skin. I feel I look really tired of late and I think a run of illness in the family has taken its toll on my skin – so this quad is being used every single day under my foundation to help conceal the tales of lack of sleep and poor diet! I highly recommend this product!
Now Lets look at the lips…Look at these beauties for perfect autumn / winter shades! I really like to use lip liners, and I do – everyday. I find that it really does help to give a fuller cleaner look and of course everyone likes a little smidge of over-lining their lips! I don’t believe you need to spend a lot of money on lip liners to get the desired look, and this one from Essence is fab and I’m definitely going to add some more to my makeup stash.
The lipstick is a really good budget lipstick that is a beautiful mauve shade, well pigmented and creamy. Both these lip products are well worth picking up if you are passing the essence counter!
The Lips Go Wow palette is a wonderful little compact offering 4 shades from a sheer nude to a deep plum. I think these lipsticks give more of a tinted balm look and feel and this palette has been great for me to add a flash of colour when I’m in a rush on the school run or to pop in my bag so I can switch up my lip colour throughout the day.
Essence make up are really good at keeping on top of the trends and something that is popping up all over the make up counters is metallic make up. I have to say for me personally I feel I am bordering on being too old to get away with metallic make up as I think its got a more youthful edge to it. Don’t get me wrong its super pretty and I love the rust shades that were sent to me but metallic lashes and brows just aren’t for me. However that being said, this is a blog review on the products overall and I think essence is really on the button with the younger market in terms of some of their more adventurous make up.
Prismatic Hololighter is also another new release from Essence. It a really beautiful holo shade highlighting stick. Its super pretty and reminds me of magical unicorns and mermaids! It easy to apply and gives a really beautiful pearlescent highlight to your skin.
Last but not least there is one more product I wanted to talk about – The Fresh and Fit primer. Now this stuff is incredible. It truly lifts and brightens any foundation and gives a really nice subtle healthy glow to your skin. I would buy this over and over again!
So my verdict on the Essence Collection? Fab! I have a few Essence products which I really love and since being sent these new products to try my love for Essence make up has become stronger again. If you’re a babe on a budget or love trying new make up at affordable prices then Essence is a fabulous brand to try and I really recommend trying their primer, concealer quad and lip liners!
